BOOK REVIEW: Rising Darkness by Nancy Mehl

I really enjoyed this book.  It kept me on my toes and was not too predictable.

I enjoyed learning from Sophie.  She went to a small town in the hopes of further her career, making it big but instead she was able to really discover what she wanted in life and what was important.

Yes careers are important but sometimes we need to refocus and make sure they are not overtaking our lives.

BOOK REVIEW: She's Almost A Teenager by Peter & Heather Larson

This was a good book.  The questions provided in the book were good questions to start conversations.  It had me thinking about things I would like my daughters to understand especially when they are teenagers!

BOOK REVIEW: The Secret of Pembrooke Park by Julie Klassen

This book was full of mystery, intrigue, twists and turns.  Only once was I ready for this book to end!  As I read the characters became people i wanted to meet.  I loved thinking I had some of the secrets figured out about Pembroke Park but soon realizing sometimes I was wrong.

The author’s writing styles was easy to follow, making the book a fun, fast read.

Usually in a book, I fall in love with a few characters.  This book I wanted to know more about each character that was introduced even some of the local villagers who only appear as villagers attending church.

This book ended and did leave me wanting more but I was happy and somewhat content with the ending!

BOOK REVIEW: Steadfast Heart by Tracie Peterson

I enjoyed reading this book.  The friendship between Lenore and Abrianna was the most intriguing part.  They may have been from different backgrounds (during a time when backgrounds meant something) and life situations but the way they cared for each other and influenced each other was true friendship and love.

Lenore helped Abrianna with her ladylike skills and social skills and just helping her feel important and that she belonged.  Lenore helped her have self worth and self esteem.

Abrianna, I felt, helped Lenore see the world from an unprivileged viewpoint but also helped her see that she too can do good and stand up for herself.  Abrianna also helped her see that money was not everything.
