Book Review: Get Your Teenager Talking

Get Your Teenager Talking
By Jonathan McKee

I really found this book very useful and practical.  I loved the first chapter with the five tips to get your teen talking. They seemed like easy enough times to implant.  The rest of the book was great.  I will use it as a reference for sure.  The rest of the book is topics of conversation with questions to answer to get the conversation started.  it even included a thought or scripture from the Bible also.

My oldest is only 6 but I felt that I could use a lot of these suggestions with her to get her even more involved in conversations.  I also work with Youth at church and now I will reference this book regularly.

I give this book 4 out of 5 stars.

Book Review: A Beauty So Rare

A Beauty So Rare
By: Tamera Alexander

I really enjoyed this book.  I felt Elenor's challenges.  I felt her fears.  I understood her thinking when facing a challenege and making a decision on what to do.  I wanted the best for Eleanor but knew she was learning and growing as she was faced with the challenges of her father, her financial situation and her love life.

Marcus was another character I fell in love with.  As he was trying to start a new life for himself she he could discover who he was.  His struggle with trying to please his family and country and still find himself was an eye opener.

Elenor is a wonderful example of someone who grew from her outward and inner challenges.  She never thought she was pretty enough for marriage so instead of getting her down she used her inner beauty to help others!

I really enjoyed this book.  It was a fun, fast read.  There were times I was very emotional involved in this book and could not put it down.  It made me want to clean and care for my kids faster so I could keep reading!

I give this book 4 out of 5 stars.
